I spent about a week reading Sendmail stuff and eventually figured out how to write a decent .mc file tailored to my needs: smart host, spam stuff, procmail support, etc. for a home dial-up machine. Once you look at it it's not rocket science. Other programs may be better, I don't know, but it's a cool feeling when you get your homemade .mc file working. I mean, you've figured out how to use a notoriously complex program --- one that delivers something like 80 percent of all Internet email.
