This kind of marketing survey is basically a bunch of statistics, and including FreeBSD in the initial survey was a mistake. However, the marketing data still has value even though FreeBSD was included by accident. If you remove FreeBSD from the results, none of the numbers are going to balance and the survey is going to be worthless. Consider that the gaffe has probably given them far more publicity than if the report was correctly done, so I wouldn't shed any tears. Also consider that since they did include FreeBSD there was probably a lot more in-depth data on use of the OS so I would guess that anyone looking to market FreeBSD products specifically would also be interested in the data. I don't know what they are charging for the data but I myself would love a peek at it.
