I agree.  That's why I don't want extra copies of the documentation :-).

Isn't the handbook supposed to be central and user-friendly?  I don't
have time to read it :-).

Newbies shouldn't know to look there.  It's never been in sync with
GENERIC and has always had a different purpose.  It's original purpose
wasn't documentation - it was for checking the kernel sources, and
tthats all I use it for.  See the log message for rev.1.1.
