Umm, I hate to rain on yer shoes, but historically tapes for *BSD and sundry
have been 'r' for 'raw' and 'nr' for 'no rewind, raw'. But, whatever....

So, all of this is fine, one way or the other, but I sure would like to see
folks working on making the Alpha boot loader read /boot/loader.conf like i386
long before we fart around changing tape device names. To give an example of
"real problems to solve" as opposed to "side issues that we really ought not
waste any more time on".
