 I'm sorry, but I see little point in this patch, other than making the
 \r\n -> \n conversion more efficient.  I do not like the idea of
 spinning off the Makefile into another inode in the ports tree.  And I
 think the perl regex for main() return is just fine, considering the
 unlikelihood of it ever failing its purpose.  It makes the patches more
 manageable, more scalable.
