Yes, it runs. I have tried it. Just follow instructions about Oracle 
(about kernel). I just have copied over Sybase ASE installation from my 
Linux host. Sybase installer is a nightmare :-) Now I have just packaged ASE 
for myself in one tar.gz (with russian locales) and removed it from my servers 
(I have just tried it).
