No.  'r' means 'rewind' while 'nr' means no rewind.  The r's should
stay.  I don't think that FreeBSD ever had a /dev/mt8, but I could be
wrong about that.  I know I've always used /dev/rst0 or /dev/rsa0 for
my backup needs.
