I have an Enmic installed which reports
atapci1: <Sil 0680 ATA133 controller> port [...]

Is this reported literally by the controller or is it derived from a
table lookup?

It seems to me that on
http://www.siliconimage.com/products/sii0680.asp
they are talking about SiI with a capital I as opposed to a little
l.
