Howdy,

Thanks for your response..... I've definately turned the other =
controller off, and using the fixit disk, and vi, have managed to change =
the /etc/fstab file..... to ad4 etc, instead of what itused to be (ad0)

But now when attempting to boot up, I get the following;

[snip]
ad4:14594MB <ST513320A> [29691/16/63] at ata2-MASTER using DMA66
ad5:29188MB <ST330630A> [59303/16/64] at ata2-SLAVE using DMA66
Mounting root from ufs:/dev/ad4s1a
swapon /dev/ad4s1b: No such file or directory
Automatic boot in progress
Can't stat /dev/ad4s1a: No such file or directory
Can't stat /dev/ad4s1a: No such file or directory
/dev/ad4s1a: CAN'T CHECK FILE SYSTEM
/dev/ad4s1a: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTANCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY.
Automatic file system check failed... help!

Then it goes to select a prompt, etc... press enter for sh at /bin/sh, =
etc

I imagine the 'no such file or directory' errors are the major problem - =
and unfortunately one that I have no idea how to fix - at this stage, if =
I try to mount the partitions to their right places, I get the same =
error....

mount -a
mount: No such file or directory
mount: No such file or directory
mount: No such file or directory
