Just to let you know, I tried these BIOSes this evening and am now
running on 1.32. The system seems fine, but unfortunately it
hasn't changed the SMP behaviour - the system still hangs if I
try and run it SMP sadly.

Thanks for the BIOses though, it is one more thing to rule out.
