What about the other things?  You should follow up that URL.  What
version of FreeBSD?  What disks?

The interleave factor is far too small, but that's not your problem.

That depends on the version of FreeBSD you have.  It's supplied in 3.0
and 3.1.  You can pick it up, along with documentation, at
ftp://ftp.lemis.com/pub/vinum/.
