When I was in the Marines, I had a 1st Sargent that liked to shout at
the recruits, "SUCK IT UP, BUTTER CUP". He also had a lot of other
colorful sayings, none of which are appropriate for this forum.

I have always found this quote apropos to those who are stuck in the
past.
