this will give you a mail ip of 199.200.234.5 and an alias of 199.200.234.10

  .
ifconfig_ed0="inet 199.200.234.5 netmask 255.255.255.0"

ifconfig_ed1_alias="inet 199.200.234.10 netmask 255.255.255.224"
