Possibly, (this happens often, err, including myself) one thing is that
cups uses /usr/local/bin/lp .  As /usr/bin/lp is first in the path, and
nothing's configured there, it has a problem.  Try /usr/local/bin/lp. =20
That might solve at least part of the problem.
