My Xircom PCMCIA card, properly recognized as:

xe0: <Xircom CreditCard 10/100> at port 0x100-0x10f irq 11 function 0
config 1 on pccard1
xe0: [GIANT-LOCKED]
xe0: Xircom CreditCard 10/100, version 0x45/0x04, 100Mbps capable
xe0: Ethernet address: 00:80:c7:7a:d2:73

with a kernel/world dated July 03, is now mistaken for a:

fdc1: <Y-E Data PCMCIA floppy> at port 0x100-0x10f irq 11 function 0
config 1 on pccard1

with a kernel dated July 10 (no network=>world not updated).

On an old Compaq Armada 3500, no ACPI.

the string "Y-E Data PCMCIA floppy" cannot be found in
/etc/defaults/pccard.conf, but seems to come from:

/sys/dev/fdc/fdc_pccard.c (created 07/07)
