Alex,

I've been using a device with the same chipset on HEAD without trouble.
It's not ASUS but hmmm. (i don't see a brand name on it anywhere but
'made in china' is mighty prominent).

# ifconfig wlan0 create wlandev run0 ssid "SSID"
# wpa_supplicant -B -i wlan0 -c /etc/"SSID".conf
# ifconfig wlan0 up
# ifconfig wlan0 inet "IP" netmask 255.255.255.0

this driver is in src/sys/dev/usb/wlan/if_run.c,

RUN_DEV(RALINK, RT3573),

{should be supported}

AFAIK there isn't a specific kernel option for the run device.

you can take a look at
#man runfw

> find /boot/ | grep run
/boot/kernel/if_run.ko
/boot/kernel/runfw.ko
/boot/kernel.old/if_run.ko
/boot/kernel.old/runfw.ko

I think the firmware should be in
src/sys/contrib/dev/run
