For a home machine, Fast or Ultra SCSI-2 (aka Narrow SCSI) is probably okay. I'm spoiled and have a machine that came with an onboard UltraWide controller, so I try for UltraWide SCSI (aka SCSI-3), but those drives are more expensive.
