Most.  Some are quite cheezy and will not work.  It's hit and miss.

You certainly may put it on a second controller, but IMHO you should use 
the first one as much as you can (I don't know what behavior the ATAPI 
CDROM code exibits in this regard -- it's been known to favor some setups 
over others).
