     When building php4.3.3 from ports, if you select MCRYPT from the configuration screen, the build will fail in the mcrypt section of php4.  Note that I already had php4.2.3 installed and already had libmcrypt2.5.7 installed as well.

     installing the libltdl port will fix the problem.  Versions of libmcrypt prior to 2.5.6 did not have this issue, and the php configure script assumes libltdl is installed when it builds for MCRYPT.  The port should install libltdl if MCRYPT is selected.
