How do I set up xterm, nvi/vim to display UTF-8 fonts? 

Does Emacs (gui-mode) work differently?

How do I enter extended UTF characters into an xterm/editor with
the keyboard?

Are there any plans to convert, say, the FreeBSD filesystem to
Unicode/UTF-8?
