Hi, I installed 3.1-Release from CD on old system running 2.2.6. This was a complete install, not an upgrade. No hardware was changed or modified. I saved the kernel configuration from the old system as a reference for making the new 3.1 kernel. The Sound Blaster 16 configuration (for a real, ISA, from before PnP existed): device sb0 at isa? port 0x220 irq 5 drq 1 vector sbintr options "SBC_IRQ=5" resulted in "make depend" complaining about the options "SBC_IRQ=5" line. LINT has this as still valid, as does the 3.1 Handbook. I simply commented it out, built the kernel etc. and the system seems to work just fine. Should LINT and/or the Handbook be modified, or did I miss something? MikeC Michael C.
