Hardware flukes > with one or the other? How _odd_. Sounds like the Mac is hosing the ethernet or you've given the same IP to both machines. Mac's will crash and die if they figure out they have the same IP as another machine. Or else it's a network problem (if you're on coax, did you forget to terminate the line?).
