Yes, I did indeed use the "." tag in my cvsup supfile...

*default host=cvsup.uk.freebsd.org
*default base=/var/db
*default prefix=/usr
*default release=cvs tag=RELENG_6_3
*default delete use-rel-suffix
*default compress
*default umask=022

src-all
ports-all tag=.
=================================

In any case, thanks to Mel, i've successfully managed to install
portupgrade.
