this is all ridiculous.
It's a 400-line C program that is strictly a BUILD_DEPENDS.
It caused no significant burden and solved problems.
Ports have gone unmaintained for YEARS but somehow you can justify 
deprecating this one in 3 hours, and then claim you are treating all 
ports the same.  You just aren't.
