ok (i was asking because i use a shared readonly root for diskless
machines)

the difference between

    ### USERCONFIG
    ### pnp 1 0 os enable port0 0x220

and

    USERCONFIG
    pnp 1 0 os enable port0 0x220

is just in the leading chars on the line but that saves you from
modifying the config program syntax.
