Hello

I have just performed a clean install of 4.0 from cd and am having
trouble setting up my modem.
I've tried a couple of things from other posts i've found but still can't
figure it out.

The following is from dmesg:

sio1: configured irq 3 not in bitmap of probed irqs 0
<bit further down>
unknown0: <Jetstream Int V.90 56K Voice Series 2> at port 0x2f8-0x2ff
irq 3 on isa0

 From pnpinfo:

Card assigned CSN #1
Vendor ID MAE002 (0x21002534), Serial Number 0x00000001
PnP Version 1.0, Vendor Version 0
Device Description: Jetstream Int V.90 56K Voice Series 2

Logical Device ID: MAE0021 0x21002534 #0

From a post i read it said something about putting the cards logical id into
the modem id array in sio.c
I wasn't sure about this and guessed by trying:

/* Devices that do not have a compatid */
{0x21002534, NULL},	/* MAE0021 - Jetstream Int V.90 56K */

then i rebuilt the kernel and enabled the other two com ports.
(as that was a guess i wasn't surprised when it didn't work)
The same modem worked fine under 3.2.

Could someone please help out this clueless newbie

TIA
