I even tried to actually install 2.2.5 and just use ppp to see if it worked, but nothing. The system is a asus motherboard P2L97-DS (single PII-300) and the modem booklet says it is a "supra 56i voice" whatever that is. On boot the PnP bios detected the card, so that appears to work. I have since tried to configure the jumpers for com1/irq4/3f8 and com2/irq3/2f8 and select the ppp over com1/2 options but nothing seems to get to the modem. On the screen, ppp starts up, I make sure that it set to cuaa0/1 and then go into term mode. I type at, but nothing echos and nothing clicks on the modem, nothing happens. How can I fix this ? Should I just set it back to PnP and try to get a 3.0 bot disk ? I have never used ppp on fbsd, only ethernet. Pleae help, this is my second day of messing with this. thanks, jay To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
