I guess it's because I didn't let sysinstall set up the PCMCIA filesystem in the past, and somehow I set it up right when I did it. So now the problem is to figure out how to get sysinstall to correctly set up the PCMCIA filesystem entry in fstab when it is used during the install. Anyone who tries to do what I tried to do (have it put /usr/src on an external drive during install) will end up with a system that doesn't boot until they edit fstab. -- Bob > >----- >Chris D.
