It isn't connected.  Note the "media" line as compared to the output
of mine:

[onceler]% ifconfig fxp0
fxp0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        inet 208.184.13.196 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 208.184.13.255
        ether 00:e0:18:ac:14:21 
        media: autoselect (100baseTX <full-duplex>) status: active
        supported media: autoselect 100baseTX <full-duplex> 100baseTX 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 10baseT/UTP

Is the link light on the card on or off?  There should also be a
10/100 light that is on for 100baseT (full or half).
