Boot from floppies using:
http://people.freebsd.org/~gallatin/44.2100.kern.flp
in place of the kern.flp.

After you've installed, copy the kernel from this floppy to your
installed / (as the GENERIC from 4.4 won't work).  Then cvsup and
buildworld your way to 4.4-STABLE.
