hello
i'm interested in a way of making backups of a /var/mail directory
on a running freebsd mail server, or may be just keeping it in sync
with some another dir to prevent data loss in case of hdd failure.
the obvious problem is that this information is constantly changing
and may be file locks or something like that should be implemented
during backup/
syncing procedure. will the tool like rsync do this job correcly?
can anyone make this clear to me?

thank you
