My guess is that the boot from (external) > option has ben disabled in the BIOS but I haven't played with it yet. The > IDE connector is still there. Does anyone have any experience with > (post-linux-hack) IOpeners? I've been doing some reading about the new ones. Near as anyone can tell, there is the new BIOS version, which disallows booting from anything other than the SanDisk, and has been epoxied to the MB. Also, rumour has it that 4 of the IDE pins have been snipped off, but they are just the power pins, so it's not a big deal. You can purchase a new (old) BIOS chip from www.badflash.com for about $20USD. There has also been a rumor that the new BIOS won't let you boot if the OS on the SanDisk is not QNX, but I don't know if there is any truth behind it. A friend of mine got his I-Opener yesterday, and is attempting to pu NetBSD on the flash, so we will soon find out. -- Chip Marshall http://www.chocobo.cx/chip/ Finger for PGP GCM/CS d+(-) s+:++ a--- C++ UB++++ P+++$ L- E--- W++ N+(++) o K? w O M+ V- PS PE Y?
