You can use this command :

#ifconfig -m

oltr0: flags=3D43<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING> mtu 1500
         inet X.X.X.X netmask 0xffff0000 broadcast X.X.255.255
         lladdr 00:00:83:42:40:2f
         media: Token ring UTP/16Mbit

         supported media:
                 media UTP/16Mbit
                 media UTP/4Mbit
                 media autoselect

and select the supported media options for your interface card 4 Mbits :

and modify rc.conf :

ifconfig_oltr0=3D"inet X.X.X.X netmask Y.Y.Y.Y media UTP/4Mbit"
