Right after detecting my hard drive and my dvd burner, the system just hung for about a minute and a half until i unplugged the ipod. Then, it printed something about umass0 detatched (it went by really fast), and then it continued booting. I tried rebooting again, this time with my thumb drive, and it booted fine, but i still didn't have /dev/da* and dmesg still didn't have any more information than before. I tried it also with a full power-off between each part, but the only difference was that this time, the kernel panicked when i unplugged the ipod after a couple minutes of hanging... Anyway, maybe that will give someone an idea as to what could be causing th= is? Thanks, ~Erin -- http://www.tuxgirl.com
