I am trying to install FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE on a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100.
Unfortunately, the installation locks up during the hardware probe.

When installing from the CD, it freezes at the line: “agp0: allocating GATT
for aperture of size 256M”.

When installing from the floppies, it freezes a bit earlier at the line
pci0.

Has anyone seen this or got any pointers?

4.8-RELEASE boots off the CD without any problems.

Regards,

Peter
