Thanks for the reply. I should have stated in my earlier mail that I have a copy of pw. conf in /var/yp, and it has the location for the home directory set correctly. Unfortunately, even if I use the -d switch on the command line it still doesn't create the directory. Any other guidance would be appreciated.
