Yes, except these are problems of his own making because the library
and API were originally user-mode code and not in the kernel.  Somewhere
along the way a decision was made to push that function into the kernel,
and all these bizzaro "problems" of calling back user-mode code from
the kernel, etc. follow from that decision.
