AFAIK the blue female connector indicates where the system cable end (also usually blue) should be plugged to. That means that either I've got only one UDMA-5 ide channel or someone had run out of blue parts. This is unbelievable but who knows ... :)) Switching hard rive from first to second IDE channel made nothing, it was still identified as UDMA-5 by the BIOS. I don't have FreeBSD installed on this machine, so I can't move further. So can you try to move the IBM-DTLA-307030 to the first channel boot from floppies or CD-ROM and if the UDMA-33 would be changed to UDMA-100? Or maybe someone else who owns motherboard based on i815 will move their device from first channel to second and report us?
