What you have done is installed the BSD partition, I think overlapping the end of the DOS partition (assuming you put it at the offset the BIOS said when booting DOS off the C drive and running pfdisk). What you need to do is move it higher. Apparently your DM version is different so it isn't recognized. If you fill up the DOS partition, you will overwrite the BSD boot sector and label, etc. Probably you made the BSD parition entry in the DM pseudo-partition table. When you boot off the floppy, is it directly from the floppy or from the DM boot menu? This would tell for sure. You should boot DOS off floppy and run pfdisk. Then you should boot DOS off of C: and run pfdisk.
