I think I know what _might_ be causing this problem.

I have been building my kernel with HZ=1000, when I dropped back down
to HZ=100 the problem stopped. I was unable to install openoffice
with HZ=1000 even though I tried several times. There must be a race
condition/bug/overflow that gets tickled when HZ=1000 - don't know
what it might be yet.

I'm using maildir, so there really isn't an INBOX per se.

I did not used to have this behavior, but I can't figure out exactly
what changed when it started happening.... mostly I am pinging the
group to find out if anyone else sees this or if there is a solution.

No. I use Evo everyday. How big is your INBOX?
