for me (fbsd 7.0) ooo2.4.1 (OOo_OOH680_m17_source.tar.bz2) and
ooo-3-devel (OOo_DEV300_m19_source.tar.bz2) both compile and work
well. I did upgrade via:

portugrade -m 'LOCALIZED_LANG=en-GB -DWITH_TTF_BYTECODE_ENABLED
-DWITHOUT_MOZILLA'
