patch v1

This trivial patch allows storing internet style email addresses in the gec=
os
field. I cannot find a reference online anywhere that dictates what is & is=
n't
forbidden, apologies if some pedantic standard from the 1990s does so.

Whether the code change goes in or not, I'd like to improve the documentati=
on
to pw(8), currently included in the patch.
