That is a major problem on Solaris machines I do development on here.
If you have bugs in the device driver you are working on, it is often
the case that files critical to the booting of the system aren't there
and it is time to grab the cdrom and boot off of it to repair the
damage (or in extreme cases to reinstall the OS).

That said, it sure is nice being able to load/unload drivers all the
time w/o muich hassle.
