Hard to say without more details as to why its hanging, but I would not bother with 8.0 as its quite old. Instead, try ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/ISO-IMAGES/8.2/FreeBSD-8.2-BETA1-i386-disc1.iso There is wider hardware support and many, many bug fixes. ---Mike
