I don't believe there has been such a device.  What version of FreeBSD are you running?

vanessa# grep -i pcm /dev/MAKEDEV

# PC-CARD (previously called PCMCIA) support
#	pcaudio PCM audio driver

What is not working that makes you believe that you deleted it?
