Me too, but Hellmuth's reply was: "Please go and merge it." :) Now i finally got the time to do it over the holiday season. Too bad, it's already too late to merge it back into -stable before 4.5 ships. It's also a bit sad that NetBSD's version now evolved a fair bit away from our file (among other things, they have based their PPPoE implementation on sppp), so we probably cannot convince them to merge both files, and use a single unified version. They have unifdefed their version some time ago, and i think it makes sense for us to untangle the file in our tree, too. (We still have to maintain the differences for the version in -stable anyway.) > BTW Jörg, do you consider yourself to be the MAINTAINER of this > stuff ? Well, "somewhat". Not in the sense that i'd claim a "pass all commits to that file through me first" right, i'm certainly not responsive enough for that (due to time constraints). But since i wrote a large part of the current implementation, i'm probably the FreeBSD committer who knows the code best. (About the same goes also for the floppy driver.) I know there are further changes on submission from the orignal author Sergey Vakulenko and his folks, let's see how to integrate all this. I think they also have a number of bugfixes pending. -- cheers, J"org .-.-. --... ...-- -.. .
