I'll just not commit to bsd.{lib,prog,obj}.mk and that solves any problems for you. There is more than one way to program the make files and now that we have more than one person doing it there will be differing opinons on the implimentation as there is more than one that is adequate. In the old days we did not have enough people to cover all the needed functionality, so just having a single person add or fix fix something was appreciated and simple as there were no other "cooks in the kitchen". FreeBSD has gotten too big such that we now have too much coverage for some items. So in your .mk hacking, it would really simplfy the csu Makefiles if there was a bsd.sobj.mk that could be included to get he knowledge of how to build .So's with out all the other things that go into building a library.
