Otherwise try Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get to console where you can login usual way and run ee. If for some reason this will not work four you consider this fact. Gdm suspends for a while after several X server kills in row (use Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to kill X). And as last resort you can always boot into single mode. Just type in "boot -s" at loader prompt or select appropriate option from it menu (depends on you system configuration). Good luck, Alexander.
