I was following the instructions in the FreeBSD handbook on compiling/installing a new kernel when I came across make.conf I'm relatively new to unix, just used debian two months ago but I haven't had to deal with choosing what options I need to uncomment in make.conf before. Is there a howto which explains what options are needed for a particular task. I tried make world, make buildworld, make installworld etc. but all it keeps saying is make:don't know how to make world. stop. Thanks for any help or links to info.
