Wow, are you into massochism? :-).. Are there any other options for your
installation? network? cdrom? serial cable (well, maybe not) .. but anyway.. I
don't know of anyone doing that for a while! :).. No wonder it probably crumbles
although it does seem like strange behaviour, you may want to submit this as a
problem report.
